Cheesy Reviews

Media Name:  One Piece: Adventure in the Ocean's Navel Media Type: TV Special Series: One Piece Release Year: 2000 Special Director:  Yukio Kaizawa Production Company:  Toei Animation English Network:  N/A Runtime: 49 Minutes Finished Watching: 28th November 2022 My Rating: 4/10 Given that this was the first TV special from One Piece , I was looking forward to it to see what Toei could do with an extended episode. I would have to say that I was disappointed. The plot was really not interesting with it feeling quite generic, same with the new characters who feel exactly like some of the other new characters from filler episodes. The ending was also quit underwhelming as well. The animation was nowhere near as good as in the show and could feel at times like a PowerPoint presentation. I did find some of the jokes to be funny though along with the character writing for the Straw Hats. Overall, I didn't like this special and I found it to be quite disappointing.

Media Name:  The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special Media Type: TV Special Series: MCU Release Year: 2022 Special Director:  James Gunn Production Company:  Marvel Studios English Network:  Disney+ Runtime: 42 Minutes Finished Watching: 25th November 2022 My Rating: 8/10 Given how much I like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, I was really excited for this special. I'd have to say that it delivered. I found it to be really funny with the plot of Drax and Mantis kidnapping Kevin Bacon especially being amusing. The acting was really great as well. The CGI was surprisingly great given how CGI in other phase 3 MCU content has looked. The writing was also really good and the special was sometimes emotional. The only bad thing was the rotoscoped 2D animation for the beginning and ending which should have just been live-action in my opinion. Overall, this was a great TV special and gives the MCU a sign of hope.

Media Name: Werewolf By Night Media Type: TV Special Series: MCU Release Year: 2022 Special Director:  Michael Giacchino Production Company:  Marvel Studios English Network:  Disney+ Runtime: 53 Minutes Finished Watching: 26th October 2022 My Rating: 5/10 I'll be honest and say that this year in terms of the MCU has been disappointing to me but I was looking forward to this one. When I watched it, it was just ok. Maybe it's because I haven't seen any old monster movies that inspired it but I thought it was boring most of the time and not really that scary at all. Some of the scenes in the movie also reminded me a bit of Morbius (which I'd say is the second worst movie of this year). I thought that the fight scenes were good though and the CGI was better than most of the other things from the MCU that released this year. The black and white filter also added to the movie in my opinion. Overall, I was disappointed by this though I wouldn't say its one of the worst thi...
