Cheesy Reviews

Media Name: Perfect Blue Media Type: Movie Release Year: 1997 Director:  Satoshi Kon Production Company: Madhouse English Distributor: GKIDS Runtime: 1 hour 21 minutes Finished Watching: 28th October 2022 My Rating: 9/10 Before watching this movie, I had only seen one other movie by Satoshi Kon and that was Tokyo Godfathers which I thought was decent but not the best. So I was unsure as to how much I would have liked this film but I thought that it was great. This is one of the few horror movies that I found to be actually terrifying with the psychological aspect lending itself to it well. The animation looked great most of the time however there were some scenes where the characters looked goofy. The mystery element also helped to keep me engaged in the movie. Basically the only problems were that some of the scenes were quite gross and made me want to throw up. It could also get slightly confusing at times but not that much. Media Name: Kiki's Delivery Service Media Type: Movie Release Year: 1989 Director: Hayao Miyazaki Production Company: Studio Ghibli English Distributors: Disney, Gkids Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes Finished Watching: 21st September 2022 My Rating: 9.5/10 I've been a huge fan of Studio Ghibli and especially Hayao Miyazaki since I first watched their films in early 2020 and have been waiting to get each of them on Blu-Ray in order to re-watch them. The music is absolutely fantastic and the main theme of the movie (A Town With An Ocean View) is one of my favourite songs from any Ghibli movie. The movie was also extremely fun to ...

Media Name: Bullet Train Media Type: Movie Release Year: 2022 Director:  David Leitch Production Companies: Columbia Pictures, 87North Productions Distributor: Sony Pictures Releasing Runtime: 2 hours 6 minutes Finished Watching: 17th September 2022 My Rating: 7/10 When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I really wanted to watch it since it looked like it would be entertaining so I decided to see this movie at the cinema in ScreenX. ScreenX for those who don't know is basically when part of the movie is cropped into the sides and blurred to give the illusion that you are in the movie. It really did not work well for this movie. Anyway for the movie itself, I enjoyed it. Please keep in mind that I have not read the original novel which the movie is based on and my opinions are solely for the movie. The characters in the movie in my opinion were well-written and stand out from each other. The fight scenes were great as to be expected from the director of Deadpool 2 and co...
