Media Name: Super Mario Bros. Media Type: Movie Release Year: 1993 Directors:  Rocky Morton,  Annabel Jankel Production Companies:  Hollywood Pictures,  Lightmotive,  Allied Filmmakers,  Cinergi Pictures Distributor: Buena Vista Pictures Distribution Runtime: 1 hour 44 minutes Finished Watching: 22nd November 2022 My Rating: 6/10 Whenever I hear anyone talk about the live-action Mario movie, people usually talk about how bad it was or that it's one of the worst films of all time. I'd have to say that people are overexaggerating. Is this a good adaptation? Absolutely not, there is barely anything accurate to the games. It this a good movie? eh, it's decent. I'd have to say that I enjoyed it. The acting was really good with Bob Hoskins doing an especially good job. Some of the writing was decent and I found some of the jokes to be funny. Some of the flaws, other than the obvious lack of accuracy, were that the CGI has aged quite poorly. Some of the character...

To Your Eternity Season 1 Review [Rewatch]

Image
Media Name: To Your Eternity Media Type: TV Series Season: 1 Episode Count 20 Release Year: 2021 Series Director:  Masahiko Murata Production Company: Brain's Base English Networks: Crunchyroll Finished Watching: 19th October 2022 My Rating: 8.5/10 I watched the first season of To Your Eternity when it was first airing in spring and summer of 2021 and I'd have to say that I found it to be really enjoyable so when it got close to the start of the second season, I decided to rewatch the first in preparation. I really enjoyed it though not as much as on my first viewing. The best part of this show was the emotional aspect with the deaths of each character being really heart-breaking. The show had some great action scenes paired with really good animation. The characters were all well-written which made any death scenes more impactful. The music was really good with Pink Blood being an especially good song. Some of the problems with the show was that at times it could be quite slo...

Kiki's Delivery Service Review

Media Name: Kiki's Delivery Service Media Type: Movie Release Year: 1989 Director: Hayao Miyazaki Production Company: Studio Ghibli English Distributors: Disney, Gkids Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes Finished Watching: 21st September 2022 My Rating: 9.5/10 I've been a huge fan of Studio Ghibli and especially Hayao Miyazaki since I first watched their films in early 2020 and have been waiting to get each of them on Blu-Ray in order to re-watch them. This was one of the movies that I was the most looking forward to watching and I would have to say that it did not disappoint. The animation was fantastic as to be expected from Ghibli and the backgrounds were also beautiful. I really liked the nice slice of life tone of the movie as well. I loved each of the characters and felt they were really well-written. The music is absolutely fantastic and the main theme of the movie (A Town With An Ocean View) is one of my favourite songs from any Ghibli movie. The movie was also extremely fun to ...

Cars 2 Review [Rewatch]

Image
Media Name: Cars 2 Media Type: Movie Release Year: 2011 Director:  John Lasseter Production Companies: Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar Animation Studios Distributor: Walt Disney Pictures Motion Pictures Runtime: 1 hour 46 minutes Finished Watching: 19th September 2022 My Rating: 5/10 Me and my friends decided to watch Cars 2 on a Discord call for a laugh since it's commonly considered to be the worst Cars movie. I cannot compare it to the other two since I can't really remember either of them but I can say that this was was ok. The animation as you'd expect from a Pixar movie was fantastic. The movie also started really strong with Finn McMissile's introduction scene being extremely well done. The soundtrack was also great with Finn's theme especially being really catchy. All of the action scenes in the movie were also really cool and exciting to watch. I'd have to say that the movie got progressively slower and less interesting as it went on up until the London rac...
