I originally watched the first season in 2021 and really enjoyed it but since at the time it had been 8 years without a second season, I didn't expect one to happen but to my surprise it did. When I watched it, I was extremely disappointed. this season was made by a different studio so the animation was nowhere near as good. I felt like there were too many generic slice of life plotlines that were extremely boring. They literally just felt like filler that added nothing to the story. I really didn't get why they got rid of MgRonald's in this season when it's basically the whole point of the show. The first season didn't focus entirely on MgRonald's but what they did with it was more interesting than the beach bar and farm from this season. The returning characters from the previous season felt quite flanderized as well. A lot of the jokes were really unfunny with some of them just being generic romcom anime jokes. The final episode of the season while having more action than previous ones, was still really poorly paced. By far the worst addition in this season had to be the character Alas Ramus who was so damn annoying and served absolutely no purpose expect to ship two characters together who clearly don't like each other together. 

Basically the few good points of the season were that some of the jokes were still funny (even if very few of them), some of the fight scenes were good, the voice acting was good, the music was still good (despite being mostly reused from season 1) and whenever they actually involved demon related shenanigans, it was sometimes quite cool. 

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this season considering how much I liked the first one though i'll probably reluctantly watch the third one when it releases.

When I heard that they were making a prequel focused on Tohru's parents, I was really excited for it. I finally got around to watching it when it got put on Crunchyroll. I was a bit disappointed that part of it was a recap though I'm glad that the recap only lasted 30 minutes. The recap did feel largely like it was only there to fill time though.
