When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I really wanted to watch it since it looked like it would be entertaining so I decided to see this movie at the cinema in ScreenX. ScreenX for those who don't know is basically when part of the movie is cropped into the sides and blurred to give the illusion that you are in the movie. It really did not work well for this movie. Anyway for the movie itself, I enjoyed it. Please keep in mind that I have not read the original novel which the movie is based on and my opinions are solely for the movie. The characters in the movie in my opinion were well-written and stand out from each other. The fight scenes were great as to be expected from the director of Deadpool 2 and co-director of John Wick. The visual effects were surprisingly great especially towards the end of the movie. I felt like the humour was quite hit or miss in this movie though. I didn't think it was very funny in the first half when it was mostly Tangerine and Lemon swearing a lot and making Thomas the Tank Engine references though the humour did progressively improve over the course of the movie. I also felt like the character on the mascot costume was a last resort as it felt like they wanted an actual character like Doraemon or Pikachu but couldn't get the rights to use them. The movie was also incorrect in portraying the length of the journey from Tokyo to Kyoto on a bullet train as while the movie said it was overnight, the actual journey only takes 2-3 hours. Overall, while this movie did have it's fair share of flaws it was still enjoyable and I would consider watching it again.
