Even though this is a Hanukkah movie, I still decided to watch this as the first Christmas movie of 2022 just to see how bad it was. It was terrible. For one thing, there was way too much gross out humour in the movie which could make it uncomfortable to sit through. The writing was also really bad. The characters were also awful. The songs were awful despite being memorable. The majority of the jokes also did not land. The animation was really good though and a few of the jokes were funny. Overall, this movie was awful and I can see why people hate it.

I would have to say that this is a really good movie that's not for me. The writing was really good and I felt that the chemistry between Neal and Del was really good. I found some of the jokes to be really funny as well. I also found some of the scenes to be emotional. This might be personal bias because I grew up with the show, but I found The Flintstones scene to be really funny. When I heard that they were making a prequel focused on Tohru's parents, I was really excited for it. I finally got around to watching it when it got put on Crunchyroll. I was a bit disappointed that part of it was a recap though I'm glad that the recap only lasted 30 minutes. The recap did feel largely like it was only there to fill time though.
