Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head Review

Image
Media Name: Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head Media Type: TV Series Season: 9 Episode Count 23 Release Year: 2022 Creator: Mike Judge Production Companies: 3 Arts Entertainment, Judgemental Films, Titmouse Inc, MTV Entertainment Studios Original Network: Paramount+ Finished Watching: 21st October 2022 My Rating: 8/10 Before watching this season I hadn't really seen that much of Beavis and Butt-Head besides the two movies and random clips on YouTube but I decided to watch it anyway and I loved it. I found it to be extremely funny and there was rarely a joke that didn't land. The characters were all great with even the ones outside of the main duo bouncing off of them really well. I loved how they used the Old Beavis and Butt-Head segments for some of the plot points which wouldn't work with the younger versions. The animation also looked good. I'd have to say that my favourite segments had to be 'Two Stupid Men', 'Nice Butt-Head' and 'Boxed In...

Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun Review

Image
Media Name: Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun Media Type: TV Series Season: 2 Episode Count 12 Release Year: 2022 Series Director:  Masayuki Kojima Production Company: Kinema Citrus English Networks: Hi-Dive, Toonami Finished Watching: 2nd October 2022 My Rating: 8/10 I only got to watching the first season and the third movie in preparation for this season and I would say that I loved them. I would have to say that this season was probably the weakest part of the show for me so far but I still enjoyed it. The writing and characters were both really good with the new characters also being nice additions to the cast. The animation was really good with even the CGI looking nice (though a bit jarring at first). The usage of gore in the series paired with horror continued to be really well done. Some of the issues with this season were that there was way less horror and gore than in the first season and the movie. Another problem was that there was quite a bit of...

Muddy Heights 2 Review

Image
Media Name: Muddy Heights 2 Media Type: Video Game Release Year: 2016 Developer: Rageborn Studio, LLC Played on: PC Completion Status: 100% Finished Playing: 30th September 2022 My Rating: 7/10 I played the first Muddy Heights game years ago after watching a let's play of it on YouTube and I found it to be fun. I didn't end up getting the second game until I saw it on sale this year. I'd have to say, it was a good game. I found it to be quite funny at times. The gameplay was quite fun when I actually had active powerups which allowed for more movement options and more time. The powerups themselves were pretty good as well. I found the human animations to be decent but funny (though I guess that's what should be expected from a game that's literally about pooping off of a building). Pretty much the only problems were that some of the quests were a bit confusing to figure out what to do to unlock them and that it was extremely short. I don't mean that the main gam...

Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Review

Image
Media Name: Classroom of the Elite Media Type: TV Series Season: 2 Episode Count 13 Release Year: 2022 Series Directors: Seiji Kishi, Hiroyuki Hashimoto, Yoshihito Nishōji Production Company: Lerche English Network: Crunchyroll Finished Watching: 26th September 2022 My Rating: 8/10 I watched the first season for the first time in 2020 and loved it, though I expected that it would never get a second season. Much to my surprise, it got one and I really enjoyed it, even though I now recognise that not everything in it was done well. I felt like the psychological aspect was really entertaining and it was fun seeing the characters try to one up each other. Speaking of the characters, I felt like they each were really entertaining in their own rights. The animation was kind of mixed as there were some times where it looked absolutely beautiful and others where it looked mediocre. The OP and ED were both really good songs as well (with the ED being especially catchy). Despite how much I l...

Don't Hug Me I'm Scared Season 1 Review

Image
Media Name: Don't Hug Me I'm Scared Media Type: TV Series Season: 1 Episode Count 6 Release Year: 2011-2016 Creators: Becky Sloan, Joe Pelling Production Companies: THIS IS IT, Blink Industries Original Network: YouTube Finished Watching: 25th September 2022 My Rating: 9/10 When I first found out about this show in the early 2010s, I chose to avoid it since at the time I hadn't seen any psychological horror shows so I didn't know if I'd like it or not. Since then however, I have seen some so I chose to watch it and I'd have to say I really enjoyed it. I felt like the surreal humour in the show was really funny and helped to elevate the show when there was no horror present. Speaking of which, the horror was also really good and it made some of the coolest moments of the show whenever it occurred. The usage of gore in the show was also really well executed as there wasn't any gore just for the sake of it and it helped to elevate the horror. The puppeteering a...

Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy In Space Review

Image
Media Name: Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy In Space Media Type: TV Series Season: 2 Episode Count 16 (3 Remake, 13 New) Release Year: 2022 Creator: Natasha Allegri Production Companies: Frederator Studios, OLM Inc Original Network: Netflix Finished Watching: 24th September 2022 My Rating: 9.5/10 (New Episodes) 8/10 (Remake Episodes) This show was what made me watch the original series which if you've seen my review of season 1, you would know that I loved. This season was also amazing. Technically speaking this season is an anime since it was co-produced by OLM Inc who also made the anime adaptations of Komi Can't Communicate, Pokémon and ODDTAXI. I would have to say that the new artstyle is great and works really well for the series. I actually don't have a preference between this season's artstyle and season one's artstyle since they're both great and look really nice. Since season 1 was on YouTube and this season was on Netflix, there were 3 episodes made as remake...

Kiki's Delivery Service Review

Image
Media Name: Kiki's Delivery Service Media Type: Movie Release Year: 1989 Director: Hayao Miyazaki Production Company: Studio Ghibli English Distributors: Disney, Gkids Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes Finished Watching: 21st September 2022 My Rating: 9.5/10 I've been a huge fan of Studio Ghibli and especially Hayao Miyazaki since I first watched their films in early 2020 and have been waiting to get each of them on Blu-Ray in order to re-watch them. This was one of the movies that I was the most looking forward to watching and I would have to say that it did not disappoint. The animation was fantastic as to be expected from Ghibli and the backgrounds were also beautiful. I really liked the nice slice of life tone of the movie as well. I loved each of the characters and felt they were really well-written. The music is absolutely fantastic and the main theme of the movie (A Town With An Ocean View) is one of my favourite songs from any Ghibli movie. The movie was also extremely fun to ...
